Given the strict limits on government intervention in personal conduct, social order depends primarily on moral order. I address this in my course on ethics, which is presented in this file. The portion most relevant to national security is macro ethics, contained in the sessions on domestic issues and international relations. The section on domestic issues focuses on distributive justice and the regulation of personal behavior, such as abortion, assisted suicide, and privacy. The section on international relations focuses on the importance of morality in international relations.
